— Hi phil, I did use sodium metabisulfite. This is the process i used. I place a piece of 18k gold filled in aqua regia. That worked well. IT totaly disolved the entire contents. There was no sludge, grains or metal at all in the solution. I then added urea to neutralize the aqua regia and strained the blue solution through a filter.
