A Möss effect study of barium ferrite ball-milled in …

The effects of dry-milling BaFe12O19 in air for periods of 190, 360, 590, 690 and 1000 h have been investigated by X-ray diffraction and Möss effect measurements. The sizes of the BaFe12O19 particles decrease on milling, as expected, although a partial decomposition of BaFe12O19 to α-Fe2O3 is found to take place on extended milling …

Surfactant assisted ball-milling of barium ferrite

The effects of wet-milling barium ferrite in the presence of cationic or anionic surface active substances have been investigated by X-ray diffraction and Moss spectroscopy measurements. Evidence for superparamagnetic relaxation of fine particles, both in the surfactant assisted ball-milled samples and in samples dry-milled in air is ...

Barium Ferrite

The method involved wet-grinding ferrites in a ball mill in the presence of a suitable surfactant until the ferrite is in a colloidal state. Centrifugation was usually employed to remove larger particles, which could lead to agglomeration and sedimentation. Many other workers subsequently studied and used this method.

Barium Ferrite Ball Milled in Vacuum | Interactions

The structural and magnetic behaviour of BaFe12O19 subjected to milling in vacuum for 1000 h has been investigated by x-ray powder diffraction and Möss effect spectroscopy techniques. Pronounced structural disorder is obtained along with partial decomposition of BaFe12O19 to α-Fe2O3 and evidence for superparamagnetic …

Exchange bias in barium ferrite/magnetite nanocomposites

 — Increasing the milling time to 20 h has resulted in formation of magnetite. It seems that Fe 3 O 4 has formed as a result of partial reduction of barium ferrite. Further milling up to 40 h results in increasing relative content of the Fe 3 O 4. Mean crystallite size of barium ferrite for 20- and 40-h milled samples is 17 and 13 nm, respectively.
